Academics at AIMS: Innovation in mathematical sciences education
AIMS South Africa offers a unique, fully residential academic experience in the mathematical sciences. Our flagship taught Master’s programme delivers an intensive, world-class education with streams in core mathematics and AI for Science, with full scholarships available. Students benefit from direct interaction with outstanding international lecturers while living and learning in an integrated space that includes accommodation, lecture halls, a library, and computing facilities. The Centre also offers Research MSc and PhD opportunities, and welcomes academics and researchers to contribute by teaching, supervising, or tutoring within this vibrant pan-African community.

Launched in 2008, the AIMS South Africa Research Centre is dedicated to excellence in the mathematical sciences. With a strong focus on areas relevant to African development, it promotes interdisciplinary collaboration across fields such as data science, biosciences, physical sciences, and scientific computing. By integrating research with postgraduate training and building strong links with academia, industry, and international partners, the Centre fosters a vibrant, inclusive environment for innovation and scientific leadership across the continent.
